03 Jun Father’s Day Gift Guide for Holistic-Minded Families (Featuring Jord Watches)
I don’t know about you, but my husband works incredibly hard so our family can eat organic food and live the healthiest lifestyle possible…But that sometimes comes at the expense of his own health! What do we give the men who have given our families so much? Unfortunately, many of the gifts available on the market today are laden with toxins- BPAs and other chemicals in plastics, chemicals in fabrics and perfume, lead in more things than I can count…Our men deserve so much more! What is a holistic-minded spouse to do? Opt for eco-friendly, non-toxic gifts, of course!

Here are some of my top picks:
Essential Oil Cologne
Whether you choose to make it yourself or purchase it ready-made, replacing toxic cologne is a must for every health-conscious family. And who doesn’t want their man to smell nice?! According to the Environmental Working Group, perfumes and colognes can be made up of any of the fragrance industry’s 3,000+ chemicals and they don’t have to disclose any of them, as they are considered a trade secret. These chemicals can accumulate in our tissue and are linked with hormone disruption and allergic reactions.
Dr. Squatch makes and essential oil cologne that is supposed to be very subtle and contains very clean ingredients. One of the oils used is Sandalwood, so that’s a plus for me! Check out One Part Sunshine’s full list of non-toxic colognes for more ideas. If you want to save money and have oils at the ready, find a nice bottle and try Dr. Axe’s cologne recipe!
Skincare & Shaving
Does your guy enjoy looking put together? I know mine does! Consider Good Day Organics organic men’s shaving and grooming box or this limited edition Clean Slate Charcoal skin set. Hint: Both my husband and Dad love the charcoal bar!! Does your man rock a beard? Check out Brooklyn Grooming!
Reclaimed Wood Docking Station
We all have tons of gadgets these days, am I right?! Give your man a safe place to store all of his pocket gear and phones with an eco-friendly and sustainable reclaimed pine docking station. Hint: Keep electronics away from your bed, as the EMFs can disrupt your sleep cycle.
Organic Cotton Apparel
I know many guys don’t like to spend a ton of money on their clothing, but for a special occasion, why not treat them to some quality organic cotton clothing? If not for him, do it for your babies! Just think of the fabric our babies are snuggled up to for the most important years of their development. We don’t need it to be contaminated with pesticides or flame retardants. Fortunately, more and more options are popping up. Here are a few of my favorites:
Jord Wood Watches
I have had this watch on my wish list for a year now, so when Jord invited me to be a part of their Father’s Day giveaway, I jumped at the chance. My husband received the Conway series Kosso & Midnight Blue to review and it. is. gorgeous! Even the experience of opening the box is top-of the line. It comes in a beautiful wooden box that smells of fresh cut wood, which brings back so many memories of working in my dad’s wood shop as a kid. There is even a dehumidifier in the box.
Jord uses only 100% natural wood and chooses not to use toxic chemicals to treat or protect the wood. Another thing I love is that they use stainless steel clasps for those with nickel allergies! (Ahem)
If you are looking for a unique gift for the man in your life, this is it! They offer custom engraving and will size your watch to fit before it’s shipped out so you don’t have to do a thing and select watches are currently 15% off for Father’s Day! If you have a Jord watch on your wish list like me, you won’t want to miss out on the $100 off giveaway. (Details below)
